I would add to that , I think they should expose Backlund in the expansion draft and keep Gio if only to deal him at the deadline. Ideally, next season should start with almost a completely new top 6. If the team is seriously considering a rebuild, I would be open to trading Lindholm but only because he holds so much value. It would take a huge over payment because he's the kind of guy I would want to keep around on the team. Mangi and Dube are guys I'd keep too but again would be open to trading. If Seattle took Backlund, it would open up a roster spot and a lot of cap space to sighn a free agent or to take on another team's bad contract for assets. If they're doing a rebuild, do it right and collect as many assets as possible. Sign any big name UFA to a high money 1 year deal to trade at the deadline if possible.

All of this is wishful thinking because they're more likely to keep the team together and find a way to add Hall.
