I think the key to unlocking Bennett’s game has always been his engagement level, keeping it simple and being physical. I put out a few numbers a while back about the average number of hits Sam Bennett had last year’s playoffs which was 5 hits per game vs 1.8 hits this season. He had 8 points in 10 games in the playoffs whereas he struggled mightily to produce this season. How many hits did he have in his debut with Florida? 5.

That leads me to believe that the more Sam Bennett hits, the more he produces generally speaking. So. If Bennett continues to be engaged and plays with physicality, he should be fine. Although, I will say this, nobody in NHL history has averaged 5 hits per game in the regular season, so I suspect Bennett’s production will eventually drop when the novelty of the “new team” wears off. He’ll probably pick it up in the playoffs though as per usual.
I don't have any stats but I bet that aspect of the game is the hardest to maintain consistently, because it's hard.
