The first 3 seasons of his career, the NHL regular season was 60 games long. For the next 18 seasons, it was 70 games. The final 4 years of his first stint in the NHL were 74, 76, 76, and 78 games long. His NHL return season was the only 80 game season he ever played.

Every season that Marleau has played was 82 games long except for these last 2 seasons and the 48 game 2012-13 season. Plus, the full 2004-05 season was lost.

Gordie played in 1,767 out of a possible 1,824 games. Marleau has done it in 1,802 possible games.

Due to lockouts and COVID, Marleau has had 129 games cancelled in his career. Without those, he likely would have passed Gordie a couple of seasons ago... but he'd likely still be chasing Jagr without the lockouts (and probably Messier too).
