I'm not suggesting anything, I just vaguely recall in one of his earlier seasons that he scored a very similar goal that was overturned because he got handed a stick from the bench.
The rules may well have changed in the meantime or the circumstances are different, I just remember that because I recall thinking that was a stupid, stupid rule.
If the equipment guys are on the ball and can pass a player a new stick while he flies by the bench at full speed then IMO that should be allowed.
