It's not just that. If one team just didn't do training camp and showed up on opening night and tried to play, they'd get injured at a much higher rate. Hence the need for training camps before the bubble last year. This is arguably worse because at least oh opening night your opponent is probably still getting up to speed, not gearing up for a playoff run.
