Time To Douse The Flames

In 2018-19 Habs controlled their fate down the stretch and then had losses against Carolina and Columbus. Now we're in the same spot with these games against Calgary. Time for the team to show they mean business.

This will be a playoff game tonight for Calgary.
I expect them to have a very strong start and Habs will have to match their sense of urgency.
EVerybody will need to bring their A game......B game is the hope for Drouin.
For some reason, I expect this game to go in overtime. Too much of an important game to see a blowout.
Since they played last night, it might give us the edge at least if we stop them in the 1st period

Tonight's game is a back to back for the Flames. Loose this one and it won't feel good. Habs need to show up cause the Flames are going to play loose for the rest of the year

Next two are must wins. Expecting playoff intensity from the boys.

All our games with Vancouver and Calgary are must win. Doesn't matter what we do against other teams. These are 4 point games that will secure our playoff spot. Smack these fools down and let's slap the leafs in the playoffs.

Dump and chase tonight. HARD. Only way to win. This will be Scorey Perry's type of Western Conference game. Not many openings, grinding, slow paced.

PPs and PKs will be crucial.

After watching Calgary shut down Toronto last night I am very concerned that the Habs are going to have a tough time against this team. They put 5 players in the neutral zone and play the most boring trap game.

I hate this team and alot of their players.

Calgary owns us. Their style fits perfectly against us.

Yeah, LA was not easy to watch during sutter's run either, but it's a highly effective style if you have the horses to play that way, and those horses buy in.

i don’t know if it is coaching, management or the leadership group but this is embarassing. The inconsistency this season is embarassing. And yes Calgary is playing great but come on. This happens way too often. Where is the "speedy" team? Our 4 centers are not known for their speed and our defense…..well that answers itself. Toffoli, Perry? No speed there. A poorly constructed team. But hey, everything is ok! Were in a playoff spot.

I feel guilty for blaming Claude Julien for this mess. I didnt learn my lesson when I would bash Michel Therrien. It isnt coaching. Its management. Its scouting. Its the poor team construction since Mr.Biceps has been GM. It has been this way since 2012. He had one good run with a prime Max Pacioretty, PK Subban, Carey Price and a game Andrei Markov. Inherited players. Does he win trades? Much more than he loses imo. But his team structure and his view of the "optimal team" just does not work. (Case in point: a d corps FULL of slow, lumbering players.)

Montreal really choking against Calgary. Had so many chances to push them down. Think they lost their last three to Calgary

I really don't think they are anywhere near done. They're now 4-1 against the Habs so far this year and it seems like Montreal has let them into their heads to nest. There's still a month of hockey to play. Montreal needs to win all 3 games in hand to improve their likelihood. Unless those three in-hand games happen to be against the Oilers, my confidence is low they'll be able to do it.

Watching this game, not sure how/why Calgary seems to match up against TML and the Habs so much better than the Oil, given the difference in players and skill. One thing I see is that the flames are tight checking against these guys whereas the Oilers are more free wheeling and don’t check as close.

Montreal faces us like 4 more times so Calgary is still screwed
