It's just the timing of it. McDavid and the Cave's are really close and the emotion of seeing a friends memorial got to him. Personally, I do feel the game could have been played on Sunday as well but the outcome wouldn't have changed and that's not what was being challenged.
No excuses whatsoever. The Oilers got badly outplayed and deserved to lose.

Individual Oilers maybe, but I doubt the team is complaining. After all would not they have agreed to it?
