Digging into Heineman a bit this afternoon and I like what I see.
Draft-1: Not huge production in his first year with the U-20 team and likely why he’s not on many teams radars for the draft.
Draft Year: Takes a huge step in production becoming almost a 1.4 PPG player in the U-20 league as an 18 year old, ranking pretty well among draft eligibles from Sweden. Ends up getting called up for 11 games in the SHL.
Draft + 1: Spends the full year on the main SHL squad with 0.3 PPG in a mens league, as a comparable top 10 picks Holtz and Raymond are 0.45PPG and 0.53 PPG respectively. Makes the WJC team.
So an interesting rise for him from a guy not even talked about as a draft pick to playing in Sweden’s top men’s league and the WJC within a couple seasons .
He looks really great in the video I’ve seen. Good skater and tenacious on the forecheck. Pretty sure he was a guy I remember standing out in the WJC too as being a great skater and just relentless on the forecheck.
