For a player that small, he needs to be producing offense consistently. Mangiapane and Dube never went through dry spells like this after their rookie year in the AHL. That's probably a good barometer on where Phillips stands.
I don't think we have to worry about Seattle picking Phillips. Surely, the Flames have better assets to choose from.

I think you are misunderstanding my post. I also don't think Phillips is picked by the Kraken, but why would the Flames as an organization want to cause that problem (by playing him now with the
possibility that he excels on the Flames) I would much rather him hone his game in the AHL for this year.
If he is called up, I would hope they play him on a line that is suited to his style of play.
If he plays on the Flames this year and does pretty well, I know who I would be considering over Kylington for the Kraken.
