On the Japanese horse meat:

When i was in japan i stumbled into an izakaya that the bartender/cook was kind enough to tell me they only serve horse meat. I gave it a shot and they brought over a little hibachi to cook it at the bar - mostly just searing thin strips. I thought it was quite good - i would eat it again if i was in Japan with someone who hadnt been and wanted to try.
