I think there is a very real possibility that Mike Smith prices himself out of Edmonton this off-season.

The Oilers may be having a good covid-regular season, but they get dummied by any top 10 team in the league, and have trouble with middle of the pack teams. See their 12 of 16 losses this season against Toronto, Winnipeg and Montreal.
1-3-1 v. Montreal 7GF 15GA (-8)
3-5-1 v. Toronto 19GF 31GA (-12)
4-2-0 v. Winnipeg 22GF 20GA (+2)

8-10-2 — 48GF 66GA (-18)

No.

Not even a bloated record against the worst team in the Division can save the Edmonton Oilers.

Nothing can save them.

Nothing.

Edmonton is no good.
