In the above article, the Canadian Press confirms that Darren Ferris told them Sam Bennett and Victor Mete have asked to be traded.

He actually says “Bennett MIGHT want a change of scenery” “his agent says that’s true; he would like it to be CONSIDERED”

And I don’t see any quotes in the second link, so again I’m leaning towards spin/carefully used language to make a story.
