My dad keeps telling me it's only like $3-5K to do a whole house and I think he's missing a 1 in front of that number or a 0 behind it. If it's really only $3-5 to do, I'd totally do that in an instant, but I'm like 99% sure it's in the tens of thousands to do. I totally forgot to ask the plumber when I had one come in to fix the leak in my basement.

Depends on how you do it... I'm thinking 3-5k probably covers the plumbing, extra for the drywall and painting afterwards. Finished basement (drywall vs panel ceiling) would add a lot of work.
