2023 is the draft to look at.

Bedard looks like he might be the best player since McDavid. Matvei Michkov, also 2023, might be the second best.

If there was a year to bottom out, 2023 would be the year.

I think Wright is better than anyone in 2021, but I don't think he's as good as either Bedard or Michkov.
Still very early, obviously. Especially for Michkov, who hasn't played in the KHL yet and is only 5'9.
