Monny will not be the major piece in a deal for an elite player.
At least not the Monny we’ve seen over the last 2 years.
Until Monny proves himself healthy and productive, he has little trade value.
Unfortunately Calgary doesn’t have that singular premium piece that would impress Buffalo in a trade proposal. That player would need to be young, with lots of term, and already productive.
Three years ago, Calgary had some of those players. Too much time has passed and those players now have less term and, in fact, have decreased production.
