Can you see behind it on the upper cabinets, even if you can get a phone behind it to get pictures? You’d want to see how it is secured, and positioned in relation to the cabinet before going to it.

In nooks, it’s probably just pinned with brad nails. You could cut the joint at adjacent painted wall/ceiling with a knife first so it doesn’t pull paint off the rest of the area and then gently pry it and see if it comes off easy.
