End of the day most players do not live year round where they play. Stone likely lives in the Vegas area from September-April/June and spends the hottest months likely back in Canada.
The players mostly all live in Summerlin which seems like a paradise to live in and is only 20 min from the rink.
I think Stone chose Vegas for several reasons. McCrimmon was a huge reason, the fact they are one of the best live experiences in the league, no state tax, great city to be in for off days.
For me Vegas is 100% my retirement goal in terms of becoming a snowbird.

Yes, there are really nice places in and around Vegas, and the heat is overstated.
