I've said it before ... but if a GM had a personal rule where you couldn't do a contract longer than 4 years with any player aged 29 or older you would end up winning in the end.
Sure there would be key players that you would have to deal or lose to free agency, but the overall cap space advantage would create more flexibility and opportunity and keep teams in the mix for longer.
It's basically happened in baseball with accusations of collusion because all the teams are likely seeing the same data.
