The guy is a career 0.75 PPG player. He’s at 0.65 this year. He was at 0.68 last year.
Yes the trend is concerning.
It doesn’t make him a garbage player - he’s a home grown talent who’s scored more goals than anyone in his draft, including MacKinnon.
That’s not nothing.
Trade him. Fine. I’m trading him in the package for Eichel.
But he’s a quality player who’s done as much as one could reasonably Ask from the 4th centre taken in 2013.

I never said he's garbage.
His career stats are great for his draft class and he has performed well for the Flames for years.
However the mental aerobics his defenders use to excuse his drop in play is exhausting and never afforded to other players, that's the only point I'm making.
Every other player gets criticism for their recent form but there's a sector of Monahan fans who only want to talk about his career stats, overall averages & draft class position.
All of which means nothing for his contributions to this team now or moving forward.
The same people who defend Monahan to the death are ready to trade Tkachuk for 30 bad games, but have every excuse for Monahan’s 130.
