I think Ken Jennings did an excellent job.
Mike Richards did well. He took a few episodes to grow on me. I don't know what it was, he gave me a frat boy vibe, but it faded as his run went on.
I like Katie Couric, but her best asset as an interviewer, her consistency in neutral tone, is her biggest hinderance as host of Jeopardy. The Jeopardy host isn't supposed to be neutral. The host is supposed to be rooting for the contestants to win while pretending to be neutral. It's a fine line, but Couric didn't have any excitement when constestants struggled with an answer then got it, no dissapointment for wrong answers.
Dr. Oz is doing a good job hosting. But where Mike Richards' bro-iness wore off on me, Dr. Oz selling his soul to become a snakeoil salesman isn't something I'll be able to overcome.
Part of me thinks that the new host shouldn't be tied to another claim to fame. You don't want the host overshadowing the show. Alex and Jeopardy went hand in hand. Sure he was the host of Classic Concentration, but it didn't overshadow Jeopardy (even if 6 year old me thought it should have).
That said, I'm still PVR'ing Jeopardy and watching it daily (anyone else skip the commericals and the contestant interviews?) but will be happy when Oz goes back heind the curtain.
EDIT: Watching tonight's episode, Oz seems almost gleeful when a contestant gets the wrong answer. His "yes" when a player gets it right is getting annoying as well. He also is using incorrect phrasing when contestants don't get a clue (one of my biggest peeves if the answer is Calgary, Alberta contestants shouldn't say Who is Calgary?)
