It happens in minor hockey all the time. All levels of hockey really. Ref calls or misses a penalty by mistake, then has to look for one for the other team to keep it even or fair. The team that gets the even up call against them rarely even complains because they know why the penalty was called. Even if it’s barely an infraction. Nothing to see here and the ref involved should be in as much trouble as he is.
