The Flames worked hard on Monday night. They carried the play for the most part but they were let down by two reoccurring themes.
1. Don't create enough dangerous chances so they make goalies look good
2. Forcing the play and making bad decisions resulting in odd man rushes or players out of position.
This isn't a team that doesn't care in my mind. They just don't have the horses. A Calgary Flames team with a Monahan/Gaudreau line that doesn't create any five on five offence is pretty much dead in the water.

Point #2 for me here. The Flames will play a few mins of great, defensive hockey. And then make a boneheaded forced play and odd man rush leads to a goal against. It's that forced play that keeps happening, and they're really really bad plays.
Have to think Sutter will get rid of that stuff but we will see I guess.
