He is forming his opinions quickly obviously based on what he is experiencing. But you have to expect him to take some time to see whether he can get Monahan and Gaudreau producing, for example.
I do believe we are going to see the team start playing better, more consistently as Sutter is able to extract more consistent execution from the players. I still expect we will be battling for the last playoff spot by the end of the season.
I really have no clue what Treliving will do personnel wise in season. In his comments, he sure seems hung up on the two week quarantine for incoming players from the US, so that leads me to believe he is thinking short term.

I agree that he probably was going off a lot less actual observation than us. Of course, his eye is a lot better than anyone here. A game of him watching probably = 5 of any of ours.
One thing though - I’m not sure he cares as much about Monahan or Gaudreau’s production as much as us. I’ve always thought Sutter wants to keep GA down to 1 or 2 and he figures that wins games. The production comes from somewhere in his mind. We all focus on the offensive end. He just doesn’t. He looks at the average goals for in the NHL and figures his team is good for that, and that his job is to get the defensive end set to be better than average.
