Isn't that intentional if they are looking harder to make calls at certain moments in the game? NHL officiating is like clockwork in close games;
Team A is leading a game by a goal in a closely played contest where the officials have done a good job not calling a bunch of ticky tack penalties. In the last 5 minutes the officials call a ticky tack call out of nowhere on Team A putting Team B on the powerplay.
That's not getting caught up in the moment. That's game management and they are very consistent in doing this.
