Darryl said he had watched about 10 Flames games this season before being hired. Far less than most everyone on here. He was not an expert on the Calgary Flames nor should anyone have expected him to be.
He is forming his opinions quickly obviously based on what he is experiencing. But you have to expect him to take some time to see whether he can get Monahan and Gaudreau producing, for example.
I do believe we are going to see the team start playing better, more consistently as Sutter is able to extract more consistent execution from the players. I still expect we will be battling for the last playoff spot by the end of the season.
I really have no clue what Treliving will do personnel wise in season. In his comments, he sure seems hung up on the two week quarantine for incoming players from the US, so that leads me to believe he is thinking short term.
