I don't think people realize how outdated that POS system was for that company, even as early as the mid-1990s. Astonishing. But, I guess it didn't need to be fancy, just functional.
It really hits the nail on the head as to why any Blockbuster was really successful: creating connections with the community. I know that sounds crazy for a giant faceless company like that, but truly, that's why people kept coming back.
I saw that they put the entire store on Air BNB last August for a unique experience. That's pretty cool:
