Gaudreau is more expensive and is going to be a UFA soon. Gaudreau might have a history of putting up more points, but he seems to have taken a step back as he enters his prime. Konecny on the other hand, still has his best years ahead of him if you consider normal trajectory.

They are not that different of players really. Both are undersized skill players. Konecny is a little bit more of a north to south player and gets into the dirty areas a little more than Gaudreau, probably better suited to Sutter's style.

Although Huselius did pretty well under under Sutter, so maybe Gaudreau finds his game under Sutter too.
