In all honesty, the DSG in sport mode shifts so tight, plus the paddle shift makes it almost equal to the manual in terms of fun. It'll never quite get to the same level as a manual, I'll give it that, but in terms of resale and broad appeal (plus my wife can drive it) the DSG was a no brainer.

Just to tack on...don't let the automatic fool you. I have a 2016 Golf R w/ DSG (yes...wife doesn't drive manual so this was my only option) and it's really amazing. I don't miss a manual transmission especially coming from a 370Z. If you need a Golf GTI this one looks like an amazing value.
