BT is not moving Valimaki, Andersson or Hanifin at their ages. He will also protect Tanev since Valimaki not expansion eligible.
Gio will be left unprotected so might as well try to move him retained at deadline for a pick. Someone will bite on him given recency bias of Norris trophy. Insurance for top 4 injury.
The real interesting twist is if they have the guts to move Johnny or Mony at trade deadline. Shocking how bad that pair has been this year 5on5. Is there something going on behind the scenes between them?
