I think with a young player like Dube he's sending him a message that a half hearted one hand attempt to clear the puck across the blueline won't get it done in the NHL. For established star players if one of your top guys is having a poor night there's nothing wrong with cutting back his ice time or keeping him on the bench as you hope he gets the message for the next game. Putting one of your top players in the press box is a major move that usually generates headlines and to me it's always a 50/50 thing where it could get the desired effect if the player takes it to heart or simply make things worse and drive the player out of town.

Darryl said he realized Dube didnt have his legs because of the back to back games, and when he isnt skating, he cant be effective.
