Why is PHA such a great trading partner? Why does CGY want to do JG "a solid" and trade him to his "home town team"? Why not NJD, or NYI (he'd look good with Barzal), or any other East Coast team?

I don’t think it’s square peg round hole in the least. At least one NHL executive agrees.
TK addresses a positional red for this club who has term and just turned 24. Further, take a look at the depth chart. The Flames are loaded with undersized LHS wingers. Perhaps I’m reading between the lines, but it seems JG’s replacement may already be in the horizon.
