Mario buying into the club was the bigger driving force though. Also had they not gotten the casino and all that, chances are they were toast. Duha (i think it was him) had a tremendous article years ago about all of it.
Really though that lottery was probably the fairest one ever held by the NHL IMO.
4 teams including the Pens AND the Rangers had the highest chance of winning...and thats what happened....one of them did.
