To confirm, just because Chucky's qualifying offer is $9M, that doesn't set the floor for what he ultimately must sign for, correct? In other words, if he doesn't sign an extension before his contract is up, Calgary has to offer him 1 year QO at $9M (which I suppose he could accept) in order to retain his rights, but that doesn't preclude him from rejecting that offer and re-signing for longer term but lower AAV?
