I suppose I didn't pay attention to the national media back then as much as I do now, so I'll take your word for it.
In fairness, I remember the media praising him during the Cup run, and rightfully so. But when he was putting up insanely good seasons, and taking out his own trash on a regular basis, it was ho-hum as far as I remember from media. They clung to their stars of yesteryear.
I'll never get over the fact that Iggy is not in the NHL 100, and I can't help to think that the lack of media spotlight during his career maybe led to the omission.
