Flames85, the problem is, the Bible says a lot of stuff that you wouldn't consider appropriate in this day and age. Things like animal sacrifice, stoning misbehaving children and unfaithful wives, and on and on.

It astounds me that some Christians ignore all of the positive messages in the Bible (especially in the New Testament) to find a single dusty old verse to justify prejudice. (In this case, and many other times - eg. interracial marriage). If you're going to do that, you'd better follow all of the verses. And you'll have plenty of time to memorise them in jail.

I'm not a Christian myself, but I've got a lot of respect for Christianity and what it was to say. Why don't these Christians focus on the positive message? Jesus Christ (real or not ) was all about forgiveness and understanding and saying that no one is better than anyone else, and no human should judge, and so on. Remember Mary Magdalene? Are you reading the same Bible that I did? Or, did you stop after the lightning bolt throwing, tyrannical Old Testament?

Edit: Holy crap, about 10 posts in the time it took me to write this one. Sorry if there's any repeat.
