The league came down hard on the Flames for that. It was ridiculous how one sided it was. They put all the blame on Gilbert and the Flames and sided with the veteran Murray who had all his friends at NHL headquarters.
Didn’t matter, I thought the flames cleaned house in those fights. Highlight of that season for sure.
