As much as Oiler fans think he's become a stud two way player now. He's gone from trainwreck without the puck to merely a 10 car pileup player without the puck.
the fear factor is what happens to Connor when he loses a bit of that speed and goes from incredible to merely high end speed. Unless he's willing to evolve his game, he'll be that guy that goes to be one night as a 50 100 player and wakes up as a 30 80 player making 12 or more million bucks a year.

By the time McDavid’s speed declines to the point that he’s not at an advantage over everyone on the ice, I dunno, around 31, I’m sure he’ll have enough of a book on the entire league to be ridiculously effective.
His vision at high speed is remarkable.
