I think Leivo’s ceiling here is yet to be seen and he’s the only guy I can see being beaten out by Perry. I want to see what Leivo does with Sutter. Perry hasn’t played a full season in 4 years (of course, neither has Leivo). I don’t trust him as a fit in the room, his ability to stay healthy or his ability to keep up his present pace.
I liked Perry 10 years ago. I don’t really care for him now.

Near the bottom? Perry was 7th among forwards on his team in PO scoring and that’s him playing in the bottom 6. I’d argue that for the role he played, he was better then Tyler Seguin despite less production. He also helped his team make the Stanley Cup finals and has been a huge thorn in the side of the Flames for seemingly forever.
I think under Ward or Sutter, Perry would’ve been an excellent role player for this team. He can be productive anywhere in the line up, has a great playoff pedigree and he’s making league minimum. I absolutely hate Corey Perry, but even I can’t deny that he would’ve been an extremely helpful player for the Flames this season.
