I think Leivo’s ceiling here is yet to be seen and he’s the only guy I can see being beaten out by Perry. I want to see what Leivo does with Sutter. Perry hasn’t played a full season in 4 years (of course, neither has Leivo). I don’t trust him as a fit in the room, his ability to stay healthy or his ability to keep up his present pace.
I liked Perry 10 years ago. I don’t really care for him now.

Leivo is half as productive as Perry in two more games this season because Corey Perry on his worst day is twice the hockey player Leivo is.
I’m not suggesting we bring in Perry to ride shotgun with the top line, but as the 11th or 12th forward, he’s unquestionably an upgrade over Josh Leivo (or Nordstrom or Gawdin or whomever we put there) both tangibly and intangibly.
