Wouldn’t you rather go to war in the playoffs with Corey Perry ahead of Josh Leivo? Perry has played in every big game situation you can imagine. He’s literally been on the same ice surface as Putin. He’s not going to be overwhelmed by the moment.

Part of the reason he has all that experience is because he’s 35. And his 9 PO pts on the Stars was near the bottom of the team - Blake Comeau had 7. Just like, this year, he’s scoring at a similar pace to a bunch of guys on Montreal, who have been scoring like crazy as a team.
I think Leivo’s ceiling here is yet to be seen and he’s the only guy I can see being beaten out by Perry. I want to see what Leivo does with Sutter. Perry hasn’t played a full season in 4 years (of course, neither has Leivo). I don’t trust him as a fit in the room, his ability to stay healthy or his ability to keep up his present pace.
I liked Perry 10 years ago. I don’t really care for him now.
