It's a muddied thing.
McDavid is allowed to skate as fast as he wants. But a player is allowed to trip a player at any time and get a two minute penalty ... happens in every game. Does McDavid and his speed taking those sharp to the net angles mean you can't trip him? Not sure I see that in the rules any where.
So he has to take some of the risk for the positions he's putting himself in.
Say that though and you're accused of everything under the sun.
