Neither of those trades improve the Flames "now"

Frost is out for the rest of the season by some reports.

In both trades you have the Flames giving up the best players. How does this improve the Flames "now"? The PHI one I could see an argument for given Gaudreau's contract status, but no way should we be including a 1st - you are also no longer allowed to include conditional picks based on players re-signing in trades.
The Nashville one sees the Flames trading the two best players who are also the youngest players in the trade, that is an awful deal for the Flames.
