Then when talking about the lines out in the last minute, says they as a team need to get better at the checking required in the division without singling anyone out, but still pushing to get better. So without diminishing the win, or making a big statement about being unhappy, he's let it be known that the there is another level to push for and he's going to push for that. Couldn't agree more.
I remember Ward's post-game comments after Rittich absolutely stole 3 points in the 2 game Toronto set a couple weeks back and just praising the Flames' play despite them getting absolutely dominated in every which way possible.
Sutter after those very same two games would've been fuming and ripping the team apart post-game.
Sutter demands the best of the best out of every single player. He doesn't get blinded by wins they don't deserve. Hell, he's not even happy after a game like tonight in which the Flames dominated across the board for the most part. Tonight was phenomenal hockey in most aspects, but he knows the players (and a specific line in general) can still (and need to) be better.
The Flames not hired the best coach they possibly could have, they brought back a Flames icon who just immediately became the most valuable asset on the team.
