I seem to remember that Sutter turned this team around and it became somewhat of a destination of sorts - at least for a while. I mean, Calgary was never going to compete with the New York of course, but it improved from what I remember. After hiring Brent, suddenly that went away (wasn't he voted as the coach most players disliked playing for, or something like that?).
I wonder who from LA (or the Ducks) that Darryl covets. Who is UFA next season that played under Sutter? Maybe someone gets a look this off-season.

But I think the Calgary can't get UFAs narrative needs to stop. I did a deep dive in the off-season (don't think I got around to posting it), and the conclusion was that only NYR and PHI have signed more team changing UFA deals 5M+x5yrs+, or even 4M+x4yrs+. I'm sure there's some devil in those details, but we are certainly in the top half of the league in that regard...which I wouldn't necessarily argue is a good thing.
