I realize you are his biggest fan and will go to no end to make excuses for him but every goaltender deals with injuries. Rittich isn't special there. The fact the team signed Markstrom to his deal pretty well confirms they don't view Rittich as a starter and Ward was making decisions not to make the GM happy and more to preserve his job playing Markstrom as much as possible. The guy just isn't consistent enough.
