If the XFL adopts the CFL's rules....then it could work.

What wont work in any way, shape or form is the CFL adopting their rules.

Different fields, different rules, hell even 12 players vs 11 on any given play, different clock rules, different time outs, the rouge, no yards vs fair catch.

Biggest issue would be non-import quotas on Canadian teams which is an immediate disadvantage.

If they want to make the CFL a farm system for the NFL via merge with the XFL...then so be it. I, personally, will not be along for the ride.

The CFL is the CFL because it is ours and played the way we developed it. Anything else is not the CFL any longer.
