Simply too many flybys, specifically by the centreman (but the wingers too) making it too easy for the opposition to break out of their own zone and win the majority of battles in the neutral zone. They dont need to be huge hits or anything, that what's so frustrating, because they're perfectly capable of doing it. Even on Johnny's goal, he initially played the body to rub the defenseman out of the play (for just a split second) which enabled the puck to stay in the zone during the PP....which led to his goal.
The flames simply don't do this near as much as they need to.

With the exception of a couple ...actually one player, the flames finished every check in the first period. It was very noticeable.
