Iceland is expecting a fissure eruption in the Reyjanes peninsula, this is between the international airport and the capital region, for those familiar not too far from the Blue Lagoon which has been closed.
We've experienced thousands of quakes the last week, many over 4, a number over 5. The quakes now indicate lava nearing the surface so they are on high alert in the region.
The good news is its not going to be anything on the scale of a Eyjafjallajökull, shouldn't be much ash or any explosive power, just a tear in the earth and a nice touristy fissure eruption.
