I just noticed no real activity in the "blow it up" and "Treliving needs to go threads" between the Flames win against the Sens on the 27th and the loss yesterday. However, this thread remained active in that period. It seems reasonable to me posters would be less likely to focus on blowing it up and removing the GM following a win (notwithstanding it is the lowly Sens). But the Ward commentary continued.
Is there anything to be made of that? Is it possible that the sentiments re: Ward now transcend wins and losses? When a fanbase continues to discuss removal of a Coach (or at least contribute to a Forum discussing it) following a win, is this a sign the ship has sailed? There is no turning back on feelings about Ward?
My take is that no matter what happens from here on out this season Flames fans will continue to blow the remove Ward trumpet. The only possible exception might be if the Flames start winning and fans see a complete reversal of coaching strategy that correlates with the winning. Highly doubt that will happen at this point - a fundamental change in strategy or a prolonged winning streak.
