He didn't trade a 3rd for Toni. He traded Toni for a 3rd (yuck)
He didn't trade a 2nd for Anton Stralman. He had to use the 2nd to get them to take Wayne Primeau, and then promptly traded Stralman for a third (also yuck)
Sutter's early years as a GM were strong. He then dumped quality players for bad return because they didn't fit his approach, drafted poorly and made a bunch of bad deals.
